About Waterworlds
Waterworlds explores one of the central tensions of human experience: how to remain ourselves while belonging to something larger. Created from expansive fields of lotus and waterlily, the series reflects on the relationship between the individual and the collective, finding beauty in the fragile boundary where one meets the other.
From a distance, the works appear as continuous fields of color, pattern and movement. Individual forms dissolve into a larger visual current that seems to absorb them completely. As the viewer moves closer, distinct plants emerge from within the field, each with its own presence, structure and character. The experience shifts constantly between immersion and recognition, revealing how perception itself can alter the balance between the one and the many.
At the heart of the series is a meditation on identity. These works are not about losing oneself within the world, but about discovering the quiet resilience of forms that remain distinct while existing within something far greater than themselves. They invite reflection on our own place within families, communities, societies and natural systems, offering a space to contemplate both connection and individuality.
Waterworlds is an evolving long-form body of work released in carefully curated groups of limited editions. Each print is signed, numbered and produced as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle German Etching fine art paper.
