States of Spring is a long-form lens-based series (2023-Ongoing) made entirely from abstracted botanical forms articulated at the threshold of becoming: the brief, charged moment when the natural world is changing faster than it can be held.
From a distance the works read as fields of tender pressure - color not yet resolved into subject, form still inside the moment before. Move closer and something different emerges: botanical structure surfaces from the abstraction, held briefly in legibility before dissolving again as you step back. The opening field never fully arrives. It stays suspended; always in the act of becoming something it hasn't yet become.
Spring blossom is most beautiful precisely because it will not last, and we know it, even as we stand inside it. That knowledge is what makes the color so vibrant, the light so pure, the moment so impossible to hold. This series holds it. Each work is a fixed point in something that was always moving: a moment of extraordinary, fleeting beauty that is now, permanently, yours to keep.
The series is in progress, released in small numbered groups as new work enters the body. Each edition is an original limited print: hand-numbered, signed, archival pigment on Hahnemühle German Etching fine art paper, accompanied by an artist-authenticated certificate of authenticity. To own this work means to hold a specific, unrepeatable instance of impermanence made permanently visible.
