“Caravan”, Dunhuang, 2006

In this classic motive of the Silk Road, a camel caravan is moving through the sand dunes of the endless desert outside of Dunhuang. Unlike the Silk Road travellers and traders centuries ago, this caravan is compromised of visitors to the city reliving this quintessential Silk Road experience for a short ride among the dunes, safe from the ancient threats of bandits, heat stroke and dehydration.
